This shot really demonstrates some flawless technical prowess. Double kudos on that. I love how soft all her facial features are, but still retain strong textural and contrastual definition with flattering lighting. I think a large demographic of people will have their attention to be drawn to the eyes, and by no means are they not a strong feature of this shot, but for me this photo really dives down and examines the qualities of the face that are so easily overlooked.

With the strong eyeliner make-up, the rest of the face really lights up with strong speculars all across the cheeks, brow-line, chin, and foremost, the nose (I hope your model’s not too self-conscious of such otherwise peculiar accenting). But I really see this photo being particularly strengthened by this. The choice lighting allows all these features of the face to take the focus and create an examination of the topographical distribution of the face that’s not commonly demonstrated. The juxtaposing of the dark eyeliner and the silver white cloth around her face create a great exploration of just how much a person’s face can be seen three dimensionally in a two dimensional space. That aside, I have to say, I don’t run across many shots were I find myself so enthralled with examining someone’s nose. Great work.

wow, very intense photo, and lovely make-up. it has a sort of pastelly paint like feel to it, i think because you had some really good lighting.
